The Mediterranean city enjoys an average of 300 days of sunshine and only 50 days of rainfall per year. It is famous for its stunning beaches, museums, restaurants, festivals and laid-back people. Visitors particularly enjoy Malaga’s Cathedral, ‘La Manquita’, or one of the many archaeological sites dating back up to 3000 years.

There are plenty of sports and activities for the children and a fantastic range of schools, local and international. There are mango and avocado plantations in Axaquia in the east, beautiful hiking trails to the west and buzzing market stalls and shopping opportunities in Calle Larios.
Malaga is one of Spain’s most affordable cities to live in and the most popular place for expats is possibly La Malagueta. Most things are in easy reach and it is where many of the top schools are located. Many expats like to live in Benalmadena but Torremolinos is more suitable if looking for a more local feel. There are plenty of employment opportunities but beware of the many scams, especially when it comes to telemarketing jobs or real estate companies.
