Language
English is widespread in India, which is especially true for the more educated, so it is not essential to learn Hindi. However, knowledge in this language will help you to communicate with the many people that do not have sufficient skills in English, so it may be useful to learn the language. Though, it must be said that this is not a requirement, as English is widespread in professional life and amongst the better-off parts of the population.
Health & Education
In terms of both health and education, expats in India should stick to private health insurance, as well as private schools and universities. This is because there are extreme differences between the state and private institutions in India. Expats who are looking to relocate to India should definitely rely primarily on private medical care, as well as private educational institutions.

Cost of Living
Life in India is extremely cheap, which is confirmed by the fact that the Asian country has on average the lowest cost of living in the world. Expats are generally able to enjoy quite an affluent lifestyle for far less money than is possible in most of Europe. This, of course, particularly impresses expats from Switzerland, who find a true paradise in India in this regard, with prices considerably lower than in their home country.
Climate
Since India is a very large country, the climate varies accordingly, with larger differences between the seasons in the north than is true in the south where, for example, relatively mild temperatures prevail throughout the year. In India, you can enjoy the snow in the mountainous Himalayas whilst at the same time experience the hot, humid, tropical weather on the southern coast.
