Where to live in Phuket
Phuket has something for everyone and so depending on what kind of person you are and what you are into, you have many choices. Patong is the most well-known and touristy part of Phuket and if you like partying, this is the place for you.
However, expats that want a more relaxing time, enjoying wonderful food on beautiful beaches should consider one of the beach areas such as Chalong, Kata, Mai Khao, Karon or one of the many others. Then there is the most densely populated area Phuket city, for expats that prefer the city life and the lower cost of living.
Cost of Living
Phuket is acknowledged as having the highest cost of living in Thailand, ahead of Bangkok. Yet, this can vary greatly depending on where on the island you choose to live. Also, it is still relatively cheap when compared with most of Europe and there are plenty of expats living in Phuket on a low budget.
