Moving to the Philippines | Emigrating to the Philippines
Moving to the Philippines: The Philippines is a tropical country with more than 7,000 different islands and an average annual temperature of about 26 degrees Celsius. It has beautiful sandy beaches, friendly people and an open and interesting culture.
Every year, it attracts expats from all over the world, who either work in the Philippines for international companies, enjoy their retirement, or just want to experience an adventure and live for a while on one of the many islands.
The Philippines is a hugely popular holiday destination and attracts millions of tourists every year, most of whom enjoy the wonderful sandy beaches and appreciate the tropical climate of the country.
However, whilst they have to fly back to their homeland, there are many expats that are living there permanently and can experience and enjoy these exceptional living conditions all year round.
The most popular cities in the Philippines for Expats include Tagaytay, Baguoi, La Union, Subic, Santa Rosa City, the capital Manila, as well as Lipa, Prudential Village in Toril and Davao City on the Mindanao Islands.
There are also plenty of German-speaking expats in the Philippines, making it extremely easy to integrate into the respective community, meet new people and build new friendships.

English as a Second Official Language
English is the second official language of the country and is spoken by the majority of the population. The main official language is Filipino, otherwise known as Tagalog, and is spoken by over a quarter of the country. But they say up to 90 percent of the country can understand English. This saves you having to learn a new language and allows you to immediately communicate with the locals after you arrive.

Cost of Living
As a large part of the population lives in relatively poor conditions, the cost of living is generally very low, which means that it is possible to live very well on about 1000 Euro/month. In fact, if you work for an international company and receive a Western-standard salary, then you can really live in paradise in the Philippines.
