Cost of living
The general cost of living in Ghana is much lower than you would expect in Central or Western Europe. Of course, this applies in particular to Switzerland, where almost all goods are considerably more expensive than is the case in this West African country.
So you can enjoy a great quality of life, as well as enjoy many amenities in Ghana on moderate savings. This is a key consideration for many expats when deciding to move to Ghana.
Property
Since there are no rules or laws in Ghana that make it difficult for foreigners to buy property, it is extremely easy for expats to obtain real estate. Of course, another option is to simply rent a flat or a house. In general, one can say that both the prices of real estate as well as those for renting are significantly lower than in Western Europe.
But before you either buy a property or rent a property, you also have to decide which city in Ghana you want to live in. There are a lot of interesting options, but if you want a lifestyle with European standards, it is definitely recommended to move to the capital, Accra. Other options, include the cities of Takoradi, Kumasi, and Tamale, which also enjoy a modest number of expats.

Working in Ghana
Expats who want to work in Ghana will find great opportunities in the mining sector, as the country has an enormous amount of natural resources. The close cooperation with China is worth thinking about, as expats that can speak Mandarin will find numerous options for jobs.
Apart from that, the tourism sector is also worth mentioning, which offers many professional opportunities, especially in comparison with other African countries, as a large number of tourists visit the West African country each year.
However, it is advisable to seek employment with international companies that operate in Ghana, as it is the most likely place to obtain a salary that is closely aligned with European standards.
Linguistic proficiency
As the official language in Ghana is English, integration for expats in this West African country tends to be particularly easy, as no new language needs to be learned. Of course, there are many other languages spoken by different tribes in this beautiful country. However, in order to have a unified language, English has been chosen as the national language of Ghana.
Expats who speak none or only insufficient English should definitely improve their language skills in order to participate in everyday life in Ghana, immerse themselves in the culture and to be successful in the professional field.
